Der regn shpint The rain it spins
dos groye lid a dreary song
fun benkshaft un           of longing and
fun tifn vey.           of endless pain.

Fun trern blind, Of wandering blind
aleyn zayn mid, myself alone
bin ikh a hunt           just like a hound
un - gey.           then - gone.

Farloshn gold. Lusterless gold,
Der toyter troym love's dream that died,
fun libe zet              at my sorrow
mayn leyd un shvaygt.           mutely looks on.

Arum nor shtralt Around me boils
un shimert shoym. a glistening foam -
          Di benkshaft tsit           The longing
          in vayt ...           entices.

S'iz harbst geven, Autumn has come,
hot trib geveynt, it weeps for me
mit oygnlikht           with a dark gaze
          farloshn shoyn.           fastened on mine.

Er hot gezen For it has seen
mayn glik fargeyn, my joy pass by,
          batsvungen mikh           first smiting me,
un - shoyn.           then - done.
